Martina Schäfler (1971) attended the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam after she moved from Bavaria to the Netherlands.


Her work is about the relationship between human and nature. It is also about opposites. Present versus past, life and death, darkness and light, chaos and order.

All these aspects come together in her art work. It varies from minimalistic art to extravagant floral pieces. One of a kind art/work.


In all of her works you can see a very close relationship with the material she works with. Paper. Hours of work go into making the textures and colours just right. It is the backbone of her art.

Her main inspiration comes from 17th century Dutch masters, floral/nature patterns and modern minimalistic art.


The art can be tailored to anyones needs and wishes.
